Over the past 20 years, Te Puna Tahua Toa (formerly Ngā Kaitatau Māori) has focused on increasing the number of Māori in the accounting profession, creating a strong National Māori Accountants Network and helping Māori to excel in commerce.
Te Puna Tahua Toa was formed in 2004 to build a sustainable not for profit organisation that is tasked with growing the network, and providing meaningful benefits to its members.
Several Hui-ā-Tau have been held, professional development provided, scholarships created to foster the development of tomorrow’s Māori business leaders and international relationships forged.
We hope that you find the information contained within our revamped website interesting and that it provides you with an insight into our goals and aspirations to make a contribution of significance to Māori and Indigenous economic development internationally.
Te Puna Tahua Toa (TPTT) proudly offers Māori leaders the opportunity to attend the Harvard Executive Program – a bespoke, one-week training for indigenous executives hosted at Harvard University.
In partnership and with support from AFOA, the Native Financial Officers Association (NFOA, USA), and Harvard University, this programme connects Māori with global indigenous networks in finance, business, and governance.
Graduates return with sharpened leadership skills, international connections, and tools to strengthen Māori economic sovereignty. This is where indigenous values meet world-class executive education.
Te Puna Tahua Toa (TPTT) is proud to support the next generation of Māori accountants through two annual scholarships. The Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship and the Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarship provide financial support, mentorship and professional pathways for tauira in their second or later year of accounting study. These scholarships are designed to reduce barriers, grow confidence and create opportunities for Māori to succeed in the profession. By joining TPTT you can access these scholarships and be part of a community committed to excellence, leadership and service to our iwi and communities.
